Every fly fisherman wants another ten feet of line, but not everyone knows how to get a little extra distance. Obviously, many anglers believe that its their equipment so they purchase another rod or new line thinking that it will be the magic bullet that gets them those extra few feet. However, the reality is that keeping in mind the basic principles of fly casting and practicing putting them all together is the key.
The distance casting workshop is designed to remove casting faults and give the angler an appreciation for a simple, yet powerful casting stroke. The idea of maintaining a straight line path (SLP) and the appropriate application of power are the focus of the workshop.
